Who We Are
The Will County Center for Economic Development (CED) is a 501(c)3
not-for-profit foundation, created by the business community in 1981. Governed by a 50-member board and managed by a professional staff, the CED is responsible for attracting and retaining jobs for Will County.

John E. Greuling, President and CEO

John Greuling enjoys a national reputation as an economic development professional. During the past 30 years, prior to joining the CED in 2001, Greuling managed the economic development program for the State of Colorado, directed community economic development initiatives in Colorado, Illinois and North Carolina, and headed a private consulting firm providing location assistance to corporations.

Janet Scott, Vice President, Investor Relations

Janet is the primary liaison between the CED and its Investors, keeping them updated on current information and responding to any needs or concerns they may have.

Janet is also charged with recruiting new Investors to the organization and ensuring that all business sectors and areas of the County are aware of the benefits of investing in the CED.

Corinne Carbery, Investor Relations Coordinator
Corey works closely with the Vice President of Investor Relations as administrative support to ensure regular communication with current Investors and recruitment of new Investors.  She also coordinates events, is involved with budgeting, and is the primariy liaison between the organization and the Diplomat Committee.

Susette Cole, Program Manager, Three Rivers Education Partnership
Susette Cole's responsibilities are split between the CED and Three Rivers Education Partnership (TREP). At the CED, she coordinates workforce development and education programs. At TREP, she creates and manages business-education partnerships with local schools. All of these initiatives have one common goal: to ensure Will County produces skilled workers.

Michele Kubitz , Accounting Manager

Michele maintains the day-to-day accounting activities for the CED, Will County Chamber of Commerce, Three Rivers Manufacturer's Association, Three Rivers Education Partnership, and Joliet City Center Partnership.  Her responsibilities include preparation of financial statements, accounts payable, and payroll.

Shari Peszynski, Billing Clerk

Shari provides accounting support and assistance for the CED, Will County Chamber of Commerce, Three Rivers Manufacturer's Association, Three Rivers Education Partnership, and Joliet City Center Partnership.  Her primary duties include processing billing, preparing and making deposits, payment application, and related filing.

Nicole W. Puracchio, Manager of Operations

Nicole oversees company-wide internal affairs and operations to maintain maximum effectiveness and efficiency. She works to improve internal and external communication and supervises the development and execution of long-range projects.  Nicole also provides administrative support for the President & CEO and is the liaison for the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Strategic Policy Council.

Missy Snyder, Economic Development Coordinator

Missy assists the Economic Development Division with data collection and analysis for reports, preparation of collateral materials for target industries, and professional administrative services for the Will Economic Network, Economic Development Committee, and Transportation & Logistics Council meetings and events.  She also provides internal office computer support.

Joliet's City Center Partnership
Thomas Mahalik, Vice President, City Center Marketing

Tom Mahalik heads the marketing program for redevelopment of Joliet's downtown area, known as City Center. He directs the work of the Joliet City Center Partnership, a division of the CED. Mahalik joined the CED after completing a 25-year career in commercial banking, ultimately holding the position of Chief Operating Officer.

Administrative Assistant to Thomas J. Mahalik, Vice President of City Center Marketing, Joliet City Center Partnership. Cam is special events coordinator for Joliet City Center Partnership, including the Farmer’s Market.
