Leslie Blakey
Executive Director
Coalition for America's Gateways and Trade Corridors

Leslie Blakey is a principal with Blakey & Agnew, LLC, which is a public affairs and communications firm based in Washington, DC and specializing in transportation.

She serves as executive director of the Coalition for America's Gateways and Trade Corridors, which is dedicated to the expansion and modernization of America's freight and goods movement infrastructure.  Its members include leading transportation associations, MPOs, commercial property owners, major ports, trade corridors, state and local government agencies, and individual rail, trucking, and engineering companies.  The success of this initiative resulted in a five-fold increase in federal funding for goods movement infrastructure in the surface transportation reauthorization bill, SAFETEA-LU.

Over 35 years of experience have provided Tim Feemster with a variety of hands-on problem solving situations in logistics, distribution, and marketing.  Before joining Grubb & Ellis Company, Feemster was a senior manager in three manufacturing companies, a general manager, a consultant, and an executive in two third-party logistics providers.  His responsibilities have included warehouse layout and design, logistics systems development, warehouse network analysis, strategic planning, quality management and private fleet management in the US and internationally.
 
 
 
John P. Lanigan, Jr.

John Lanigan was named executive vice president and chief marketing officer in January 2003. In this capacity, he is responsible for BNSF's sales, marketing, customer service, economic development, and business unit activities.

Prior to joining BNSF, Lanigan served as President and CEO of Logistics.com, Inc. until the sale of the company to Manhattan Associates at the end of 2002. He previously spent over 16 years with Schneider National, Inc.  where he served in a variety of line and leadership roles. In 1995, he was promoted to President, Transportation Sector where his responsibilities included all trucking and intermodal operations. In 1999, he was named chief operating officer. In 2000, Lanigan joined Logistics.com, a leader in transportation planning and execution software.

Richard C. Longworth
Author "Caught in the Middle:  America's Heartland in the Age of Globalism"
Senior Fellow - Chicago Council on Global Affairs

For 20 years, Longworth was a foreign correspondent for the Tribune and United Press International and was the Tribune’s Chief European Correspondent. He has reported from 75 countries on five continents.  His new book, Caught in the Middle, describes the impact of globalization on the Midwest. He has been an adjunct professor in international relations at Northwestern University and a regular lecturer at Columbia University and is a mentor at the Harris School at the University of Chicago.

Mr. Curtis D. Spencer is the President of IMS Worldwide, Inc. (IMSW), headquartered in Houston, Texas.  Mr. Spencer is a nationally regarded expert on matters of logistics and intermodal shipping trends, including inland ports and rail served logistics centers, the development and utilization of FTZ’s, and all aspects of Custom’s issues, specifically those related to homeland security.

Mr. Spencer is featured as a speaker at national conferences and workshops more than 50 times a year, and also authors articles for The Journal of Commerce, Pacific Shipper, Inbound Logistics and other newsmagazines.  Mr. Spencer was recently appointed to the 9th and 10th COAC Committee, with oversight on Customs and the Department of Homeland Security.
 
We were very sorry that Curtis Spencer was not able to join us at the Global Logistics Summit because of Hurricane Ike.  We do, however, appreciate his contributions to Tim Feemster's Presentation and wish him a safe and speedy return to normalcy in Texas.
