CED Named “Business of the Year” by Joliet Chamber
Joliet , IL November 9, 2006 – The Will County Center for Economic Development (CED) was awarded “Business of the Year” Monday night at the annual “Celebration of Success” dinner held by the Joliet Chamber of Commerce. Jeff Pfeiffer, Chairman of the board of directors, accepted the plaque. Awards went to businesses marking significant milestones.
Will County is currently one of the fastest growing counties in Illinois. Pfeiffer said, “These are truly good times for Will County and good times for the CED: Our campaign to fund over five year strategic plan A Step Ahead of Tomorrow raised 7.6 million dollars”. The CED could not celebrate 25 years without their investors, who are the lifeline of the company. They make Will County a better place to live and do business.
Pfeiffer also talked about the strong collaboration between the CED and Joliet Region Chamber: “Over the CED’s 25 years, our partnership with the Joliet Region Chamber has been a good one, beneficial to business and industry throughout the region”.
Russ Slinkard, Joliet Chamber Chief executive, said he wanted to “honor CED for their contribution to Joliet and Will County”, with the “Business of the Year” award. He noted, the CED had an “outstanding year”.
