Michael W. Hansen Assumes Chairmanship of the CED
September 1, 2007 - Michael W. Hansen has assumed the chairmanship of the CED board of directors ahead of his scheduled installation in January 2008. He succeeds Roy Thygesen who resigned as chairman after accepting a new career opportunity in another community.
Hansen is a 1973 graduate with honors of the University of Notre Dame and in 1975 graduated from Drake University Law School. He was in private practice from 1976 to 1994 and is now the sole owner of Michael W. Hansen, P.C., a Joliet law firm specializing in corporate, business, real estate, development and estate planning law.
He is also one of the original organizers of First Community Bank of Joliet and is an owner of Joliet Professional Baseball Club, LLC. Hansen was also involved with the founding, development, and construction of the Empress Casino.
He is also a member of the Illinois, Chicago, and Will County Bar Associations, the Illinois Institute for Business Law, the Lewis University Board of Advisors, the University of St. Francis President's Board of Advisors and the Board of Advisors for Autobahn Country Club. He resides in Joliet with his wife and four children.
